is there equal employment opportunity in the Philippines? check this out!

So this is the reason why I had so many visitors lately. It says:

Workers may register and encode their profile online at

This is the Philippine Government’s Job Portal. That’s what it says. The site is oooogly.

So, I checked the job openings.

Take a look at this one, Finance Manager.

Minimum Age: 30

Maximum Age: 40

Maybe they made a mistake. So, I thought, I’d browse again.

Here’s another one.

Accounting Manager.

Minimum Age: 25

Maximum Age: 35

I guess, this must be the Generally Accepted Acquiring People for work in the Philippines! Age is very important!

They must have it scientifically proven and codified somewhere that when a CPA and/or an accounting graduate who turns 36, that all accounting concepts learned gets erased on his/her brain and becomes non-functioning. Huh!

Sad. These people have no concept of EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY.

Some things just don’t change in the Philippines.

They say that age, school and connections (combined altogether) are the tools to get you a job in the Philippines. :(
